BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert is new for the 2012 Lincoln MKS as part of the Navigation and Ultimate Packages.
BLIS is a feature that can detect vehicles in a driver’s blind spots during normal driving. The system can detect when another vehicle is in the defined blind spot zone. An indicator light on the corresponding sideview mirror then illuminates to alert the driver that a vehicle is in its blind spot.
Cross-traffic alert uses the same radar sensors to detect traffic approaching from the sides when backing out of parking spots. When the system detects vehicles approaching from either side up to 45 feet away, it sends an audible warning, a message center alert and a visual display in the corresponding mirror.

Fashionable new colors for the 2012 Lincoln MKS are Crystal Champagne Metallic, Cinnamon Metallic and Dark Blue Pearl Metallic.

The all-wheel-drive version delivers estimated fuel economy of 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

Lincoln MKS also offers a 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbocharged, direct-injected V6. This engine provides 355 horsepower at 5,700 rpm while generating 350 lb.-ft. of torque from 1,500 through 5,250 rpm (premium), and returns an estimated 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with AWD.
